Webinar Series Description
The evidence is clear that personal health directly impacts employee productivity. This three-part webinar series will provide an advanced look at how worksite wellness programs help improve employee morale and productivity, how a proven model for planning worksite health is applicable to both new and existing programs, and whether the use of incentives helps enhance a worksite wellness program.

Webinar #1, originally airing April 2, 2014:

"Planning Worksite Health Promotion Programs: A Model for Building Sustainable Programs"

The growing complexity of work organizations makes the task of health promotion program planning more challenging. There is growing pressure for worksite health promotion programs to increase their effectiveness in reducing the prevalence of health risks, minimize health costs, and increase their abilities to enhance employee productivity. If worksite health promotion programs are going to meet the expectations of business leaders in slowing the rate of increase in health-related costs and creating sustainable competitive advantages in worker productivity, they will need to be carefully planned, designed, and implemented.

This session will identify the common mistakes that health promotion professionals make in program planning and present a proven model for planning worksite health promotion programs. You will learn techniques to develop an effective plan and have actionable steps you can use to create a sustainable program.

Following the webinar, participants will be able to:

    • identify the benefits of developing a program plan.
    • list the steps in developing a program plan.
    • identify the benefits of evaluating their program.

Webinar #2, originally airing April 9, 2014:

"Improving Employee Productivity Through Worksite Wellness Programs"

Are the lifestyle choices of your employees hurting your company’s bottom line? Have you ever considered how smoking, physical activity, and diet impact your employee’s productivity? This session focuses on identifying the impact lifestyle choices have on a company and how worksite wellness programs help improve employee productivity. You will learn different approaches to measuring productivity and actionable steps to incorporate into your program planning and implementation.

Following the webinar, participants will be able to:

    • identify the impact lifestyle choices have on a company and directly impact employee productivity.
    • identify the ways to measure employee productivity.
    • explain how worksite wellness programs help improve employee productivity and morale.

Webinar #3, April 16, 2014:

"Designing Wellness Incentive Programs: What’s Intrinsic Motivation Got to Do With It?"

Incentives are an integral part of most worksite health promotion programs. There is extensive research that demonstrates that incentives increase participation in short-term behavior. But do incentives drive long-term behavior change--the type of change needed to sustain healthy lifestyles? This session will focus on the elements of incentive programs, what the research says on how incentives work, how intrinsic and extrinsic motivation interact, and trends in worksite health promotion incentive design.

Following the webinar, participants will be able to:
    • identify types of incentives.
    • understand the impact incentives have on motivation.
    • understand trends in worksite health promotion incentive design.
