In this eye-opening and energizing webinar, Dr. Carrie Phelps will present the latest research on mind-body medicine and its connection to personal and relational well-being. Mind-Body medicine is an aspect of integrative healthcare that includes various evidence-based healing methods that utilize the mind’s capacity to improve the body’s function (and vice versa). The mind-body skills presented in this webinar are classified as complementary to conventional medicine by the NIH National Center for Complementary and Integrative Health (NCCIH) as they can easily and safely be used together with conventional medicine to enhance healing and improve health. Mind-Body practices such as relaxation, meditation, mindfulness, imagery, and self-expression can be self-administered in the form of self-care.
During this presentation Dr. Phelps will not only present the latest research on mind-body medicine, but she will also provide powerful experientials and take-away insight on how mind-body medicine can be applied in various health-related settings to include general health promotion, clinical settings, corporate wellness, and integrative wellness coaching. You won’t want to miss this one!
Following this presentation, participants will be able to:
- name at least three benefits of mind-body medicine.
- name and experience at least two evidence-based mind-body techniques.
- identify at least one way in which mind-body medicine can be applied in a healthcare setting, in a corporate wellness program, and within wellness coaching
