Letter from a National Wellness Institute Founder
In 1975, my colleagues
Dennis Elsenrath and Fred Leafgren, driven by our mutual commitment to
promoting wellness, sought to bring together a group of professionals to share
their knowledge, research, and expertise, and to build a network of friends
dedicated to wellness and health promotion.
None of us could have imagined how our enthusiasm for promoting and
teaching others the value of living a wellness lifestyle would have provided
the foundation for the now unique annual experience of the National Wellness
Conference.
Since its initial year in 1976, the National Wellness Conference has provided unparalleled continuing education and networking opportunities while keeping a strong focus on the importance of personal renewal and rejuvenation of our spirit and our work in wellness. We continue to be dedicated to providing a common ground for people from any helping profession to experience a conference filled with wellness options, to learn about best practices, and to renew relationships with valued friends and colleagues.
The National Wellness Institute continues to implement innovative educational tools to help its members grow in their wellness journey. Through the NWI webinar program and member publications, members learn from some of the most respected wellness professionals in the world without ever having to leave their home or office. Wellness professionals are also able to become Certified Wellness Practitioners through NWI's Academic Accreditation program or by demonstrating their abilities as a wellness leader.
No one could have predicted how complex the endeavor of putting on the nation’s number one "Wellness Camp" and providing these additional educational resources would become and how significant partnerships and private support would become to our future. We are now facing a smaller budget than we need to pursue our goals of leadership in the Wellness and Health Promotion field, in providing scholarships for students, and in promoting research and best practices for professional development and renewal, as well as in developing Health Risk Appraisals imbedded in technology-enhanced tools. That is why I ask for your private support through contributions to the National Wellness Foundation for Excellence, so that NWI can continue providing outstanding speakers and professionals to maintain cutting edge knowledge in the field of wellness.
Your gift to the National Wellness Foundation will provide NWI with the resources necessary to achieve our goal of serving wellness professionals and helping to bring wellness into the lives of many people. Year in and year out, your contribution can make a difference. I hope you will join me in making a valuable investment in the future of Wellness. I am grateful for your support.
Warm regards,
Bill Hettler
