2010 Poster Showcase

The Poster Showcase provides a forum for professionals and students in health promotion and wellness to share their best practices and/or research in a poster-format with other professionals in the field. The special 2010 Showcase event of accepted posters took place at the National Wellness Conference in Stevens Point, Wisconsin, Wednesday, July 21, 2010. During this Showcase time, poster authors were available to engage in dialogue with Conference participants and three awards were presented.

2010 Award of Excellence -- Conference Theme

"Pilot Study--A Faith Community GYM: Guiding Youth Movement for Sustained, Healthy Futures" by Judy Springer, PhD
This 12-month community-academic partnership trained adult Health Advocates, engaged youth in a structured running program, and highlighted health career pathways.

"Holistic Wellness of Undergraduate Teacher Candidates" by Sherry Jarrett, DHEd
In an effort to enhance teacher-candidate wellness knowledge and behaviors, a research study was conducted involving the design, implementation, and evaluation of a holistic wellness course for teacher candidates.
