Panel Discussion
"What is the Value Proposition of Wellness?
The Health and Productivity Connection"

Moderator: George Pfeiffer, MSE, FAWHP

Worksite wellness has evolved over the past four decades from a cardiovascular risk reduction focus to an integrated health and productivity management strategy. And, though numerous studies have demonstrated the efficacy and cost-effectiveness of well-designed and implemented programs, worksite health programs seem to be examined under a different lens than other occupational programs such as medical benefits and health and safety. This interactive panel shall discuss the efficacy of worksite wellness as a productivity strategy, the value of senior management engagement and support, and successful best-practices.

Learning Objectives:

  1. Learn how worksite wellness has evolved into a health and productivity management (HPM) strategy
  2. Learn why direct medical costs are the "tip of the iceberg" when discussing the total cost of ill health
  3. Learn about the return on investment of HPM
  4. Learn why senior management support is a critical success factor for HPM and how to engage the "C-Suite"
  5. Learn the critical success factors for implementing worksite wellness programs
