NWI has been designated as a pre-approved provider of continuing education for ACSM, NCHEC, (CHES®/MCHES®), NWI CWP, SHRM (SHRM-CPSM and SHRM-SCPSM).
The National Wellness Conference (NWC) offers diverse continuing education options. Individuals can typically earn up to 19.75 continuing education credits (CECs) during the Main Conference (June 18-20, 2018).
All CEC processing fees are included with your registration this year. Participants must attend an entire session and complete the online session evaluation indicating which CEC type is needed (and include their name on it) for each session attended. Certificates will be sent via e-mail approximately three weeks after the Conference. If you have not received your certificate by then, please verify the e-mail address we have on file for you through your account and contact us if you have any concerns.
The following continuing education credit providers have been approved for NWC 2018:
ACSM: The American College of Sports Medicine’s Professional Education Committee certifies that “National Wellness Institute, Inc.” meets the criteria for official ACSM Approved Provider status from (December 2015– December 2018). Providership #661228.
NCHEC (CHES®/MCHES®): National Wellness Institute is designated a provider of Category I continuing education contact hours (CECH) in health education by the National Commission for Health Education Credentialing, Inc. The 43rd Annual NWC is designated for Certified Health Education Specialists (CHES) and Master Certified Health Education Specialists (MCHES) to receive up to 19.75 total Category I CECH for the Main Conference (June 18-20, 2018); up to 14 CECH each for the NWI Worksite Wellness Specialist and Program Manager certificate programs. NWI (CWP/CWWS/CWWPM): Continuing education credits for the National Wellness Conference have been approved by the National Wellness Institute for NWI Certified Wellness Practitioners (CWP), Certified Worksite Wellness Specialists (CWWS), and Certified Worksite Wellness Program Managers (CWWPM). You must hold an active NWI certification to earn "NWI" CECs.
SHRM: National Wellness Institute is recognized by SHRM to offer Professional Development Credits (PDCs) for the SHRM-CPSM or SHRM-SCPSM. This program is valid for up to 19.75 PDCs for the SHRM-CPSM or SHRM-SCPSM. For more information about certification or recertification, please visit www.shrmcertification.org
General Attendance Continuing Education Certificate: Individuals may elect to receive a general certificate of participation indicating the number of National Wellness Institute-verified contact hours earned through their participation in an NWI educational program to submit to certifying bodies not listed here. Acceptance of general CECs is at the discretion of the certifying body.
Pending Approval: CECs may be made available for the following professions: coaching, nursing, and human resources.
