Earn Continuing Education Credit (CEC) by Attending NWI Programs
Individuals may earn continuing education credit for certifications they currently hold by attending NWI educational programs and completing the program evaluation form. See the Course & Event Calendar for a full list of upcoming programs.

Approved Continuing Education Provider
The National Wellness Institute is designated as an approved provider of continuing education by the following organizations:
ACSM: The American College of Sports Medicine’s Professional Education Committee certifies that “National Wellness Institute, Inc.” meets the criteria for official ACSM Approved Provider status from (December 2015– December 2018). Providership #661228.
NCHEC (CHES®/MCHES®): National Wellness Institute is designated a provider of Category I continuing education contact hours (CECH) in health education by the National Commission for Health Education Credentialing, Inc. Note: Only select NWI educational programs and select National Wellness Conference sessions are approved for advanced-level CECH. Provider ID#:100859
NWI CWP: National Wellness Institute Certified Wellness Practitioners (CWP) may earn NWI Category 1 CECs through participation in NWI educational programs, including on-demand webinars. Individuals must hold an active NWI certification to earn "NWI" CECs.
SHRM: National Wellness Institute is recognized by SHRM to offer Professional Development Credits (PDCs) for the SHRM-CPSM or SHRM-SCPSM. For more information about certification or recertification, please visit www.shrmcertification.org
Additional Continuing Education Credit Options
General Attendance Continuing Education Certificate
Individuals may elect to receive a general certificate of participation indicating the number of National Wellness Institute-verified contact hours earned through their participation in an NWI educational program to submit to certifying bodies not listed here. Acceptance of general CECs is at the discretion of the certifying body.
CECs for National Wellness Conference Sessions
See NationalWellness.org/NWCCEC for the most up-to-date list of additional approved CEC types available for participation in National Wellness Conference sessions. CECs for the Conference participation may be made available for the following professions: coaching, nursing, and human resources.
Individual Program Approval:
EACC: The online training for the "Resilience & Thriving: The Secret Power of Stress" course is eligible for five (5) PDHs (Professional Development Hours) in Domains II, III, and the online training for the "Empowered Health Consciousness & Prescription Drugs: The Wellness Alternative" course is eligible for five (5) PDHs in Domain III from the Employee Assistance Certification Commission. These programs are co-sponsored by Organizational Wellness Learning Systems (OWLS) and the National Wellness Institute (NWI).
